Wednesday@Krav Maga Edinburgh

Tonight we started the class off with a kettlebell routine of
  • 10 seconds
  • 15 seconds
  • 20 seconds
  • 25 seconds
  • 30 seconds
  • 30 seconds

and then back down. Same recovery as the work. Whilst recovering keeping on the move. Then into sprawls and the plank. Solid 15 minute warm up!

The class started with chokes from the front whilst against the wall. Remember, if you are using the knee to the groin you gotta move your head to the side otherwise you are taking a head butt.
Blast from the past, Marcus threw in the bread and butter of Krav Maga the 360 defence with simultaneous strike.
A good introduction for the new guys and a welcome revision for the older students. A little rusty perhaps. Remember, this one can be practised in the home!

Tactical Edge

We worked on the some of the same chokes but with the Tactical edge take on things. Marcus explained why each system has benefits and disadvantages. We moved into chokes from behind and how to work out of those. This does happen and don't think it wont happen to you. The Neds of most cities love to grab the throats of their victims. Its a power thing and they think they have it.

Sundays Kettlebell and fitness class will be on at 5pm this weekend. Remember don't be late as we wait for no one!

Next Wednesday sees Rannoch Donald come along and take everyone through the kettlebell swing. This is a must attend class so try and make arrangements to be there.

  1. Good warm up this week, was certainly feeling it by the end - especially with the continuous bouncing.

The blocking was really good to learn as a new member, though my forearms are blue and black all over today.

    Cheers.
