17th October@Krav Maga Edinburgh

Last nights class focused on third party protection. This can be anyone from partner, friend or child. The key is to neutralise the threat, get in between the attacker and victim and then get out of the area!
How did everyone find this?
This is a real situation that happens on the streets of any city. So you need to have the tools to deal with it.

Who managed to do the push-ups at the beginning of the class?

Tonight's class brought about a couple of injuries to Matt and Liz so I hope you guys are not suffering too much.
Once again I was savagely bitten in class today so a big thank-you to Marcus for that one.

Next Krav class will be on 22ND October where we will go over P1, P2 and P3 syllabus in preparation for the grading on Wednesday.

Next fitness class will be on Sunday 21st October at 3pm up on the Meadows at the usual place. (Near the tennis courts opposite kids playground.

  1. I received more bruised and abrasions than normal last night, and I can't remember why!
Those headstand push-ups were _monsterous_ :D

  5. Training at Krav Maga Edinburgh will get you fit. However, this is a by product of the training and not something we focus a great deal on. Our principle goal is to keep you safe. We focus a great deal on awareness, prevention and verbal de-escalation. We cant afford to concentrate solely on the physical side of training. The last thing we want to do is resort to a physical response if we don’t have to. If you have any further questions then mail me at enquiries@kravmagaedinburgh.com or call me on 07809157200. Marcus

Also David as an extra to the classes we provide at Krav Maga Edinburgh we do have 1 fitness class where we focus on pad conditioning and fitness levels. This is usually on a sunday afternoon on the Meadows playing fields in Edinburgh. If you would like further details see tthe blog.

  6. David, i recently started the class, im 29 and really unfit (and really overweight) i for the most part can keep up with the class, sometimes its a real struggle but i do what i can. Because i sometimes have difficulty it has got me into the frame of mind of being more active at home, so it even has subtle mental development :D

Lee, i think i need to look at the break falls, as i think it was the landing on my chest that caused my breathlessness and not you trying to kill me :D

  7. Glad to hear that. I was a little worried.
For anyone at the club who does want to work on getting fitness levels up head up to the Meadows. The class is designed to push the individual not the group. The only thing it costs is your time. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and we all help each other to achieve the results desired by the individual.
