Tactical Edge Seminar@Krav Maga Edinburgh

A big thanks to Mark for coming down to Edinburgh and showing the guys on whats what when it comes down to the art of the blade!
Some feedback on this would be great guys so get leaving those comments.
I have added photo's of the seminar onto the Krav Maga photo gallery so use the link at the side and view them there. There will be more later on in the week as I get them in from the guys who were at the seminar.

Fitness training is on tonight for all those who wish to attend. Meeting at 6.15-6.30 at the Meadows (park) near the tennis courts.

  1. I found the seminar very interesting, practical, and can see myself using what was learned both in training and in the real world.
I noted it wasn't presented as a restrictive 'here's how this is done' but as 'here's how this _can_ be done' way.
For me particularly the best bits in the seminar were real-world examples and explanations of how people tend to react, and the physiological changes that occur in the body when people are on the pointy end of threatening situations. I'd say these were very useful in mental preparation, should we become embroiled in a threatening situation and also for when we encounter it happening to others.
I can see how an understanding of how the mind and body reacts under threat could mean that when under real threat we're mainly fighting the attacker, not equally the attacker _&_ the shock of how our perceptions and body are no longer operating the way they normally do both in training and in day-to-day life.

  2. Great seminar - taking away your opponent's tools as quickly and efficiently as possible makes a lot of sense, and I like that it was based around a core set of simple techniques. Well worth the £25.
