Concrete poisoning

Remember, in a fight there aren’t going to be mats, and falling on that concrete, at the very least, is going to hurt.  You can use the concrete to your advantage, depending on your role in an altercation.  Think about the military - they might want to slam that person into the concrete if they have a weapons failure.  A security person may want to use a wall to pin someone against.  A civilian might want to push someone into a wall so they don’t have to hit them and then exit.   You must, however, be mindful of the fact that hitting someone and knocking them down can have them one step closer to death. I heard about a woman recently who was knocked over in a park - I think by a dog - and banged her head and died.  That’s why it often a good idea to have some knowledge of controlled takedowns that look to keep a person's head safe.  Here’s an example:
