Persistence and determination - life is what you make it

We don't always get to choose what we are good at. Some people are simply better at certain things than others and, equally, some worse. What we do get to choose, however, is the amount of work that we put in. There will always be someone better than you but, if they don't have the drive and the
determination to succeed, I guarantee you that they will fail. Hard work is the most under appreciated quality in modern society and frequently it is the one thing that people are unwilling to admit to when discussing their failures. Few people will admit to not working hard enough, when in reality hard work and commitment was the only difference between succeeding and not.  If you set yourself a goal, whether its to learn Krav Maga, improve your fitness or just to shed a few extra pounds, then you need to commit yourself to that goal.

If the sight of a little rain puts you off, if a few degrees up or down the thermometer makes you quail, or if you just don't feel like getting up and out to the gym that day, you probably won't be meeting your target anytime soon. Instead, however, if you decide each day that today is the day you are going to give it your all then, slowly but surely, you will begin to see real and positive change in your life. Small successes breed larger successes.

Persistence is not a talent, it is a habit, and it has to be renewed every day. Do yourself a favour, and don't give up today.
