LAST NIGHT @ TACTICAL EDGE EDINBURGH

We started the class with the kettlebells and then we moved onto single stick and revised the 12 universal lines. So this imprints that everything has to follow one of the lines. We then went stick to stick and looked at countering impact weapons in an easy to learn manner. We then went conceptual and did pen against long impact weapon. This gives us an appreciation for distance, timing etc. If you can intercept a stick attack which travels faster and from a longer distance than a regular punch then it makes dealing with a punch easier. This is why we take this approach in tactical edge. It's all about building skills as fast as we can in class to make sure you can deal with anything. Rather than you just walking out a class saying I learned a release from a grab tonight. I hope a guy grabs me rather than strikes me. So switch on and see why we adopt this approach. I spoke to the guys at length last night about the use of weapons and TE and why we train that way. So they could go out and educate other people on the approach and the benefits.
