KRAV MAGA EDINBURGH

Last night we started working on striking combinations and into a takedown and lock. From there we looked at the softer side of Krav Maga and looked at the releases from various clothing grabs. I explained that when we were grabbed we need to be talking to person trying to de-escalate the situation, we have to monitor the hands using tactile sensitivity incase they release a hand and go to strike us. We also have to watch incase they headbutt us. We borrowed the defence against a headbutt from Tactical Edge as it is the simplest and most reliable as far as I am concerned. We then then looked at an attack which starts as a grab and then one hand releases and starts striking. Throughout the night we kept hammering home the need to be proportionate in our physcial response. If someone grabs us then we are entitled to strike and escape but you cannot release a barrage against a person and not expect to face some legal proceedings. Again, we are all adults so the decision is made by you on the ground as only you will know the threat level and what is required at that time to escape that situation. Good effort by all. See you on Thursday.
