TACTICAL EDGE IN NEWCASTLE

Lee and I went down to Newcastle with Mark for a seminar at Solo Martial Arts. Unfortunately, I could do virtually nothing as I was injured but just sitting listening and watching you learn plenty and refine the basics. Mark took the guys through through some of the comsets and covered a lot of the takedowns. He talked about mental conditioning, legal aspects of self defence, tactics and repercussions. He discussed at length the pros and cons of pre-emptive striking both legally and morally. Also delved deeply into the psychology behind this and the warrior mindset. Mark took the guys through the use of a distracting tool such as coins to throw at an opponent before attacking. This was drawn from our own martial heritage from the like of black lantern and dagger or cloak and dagger. The day finished off with mark covering the use of the stinger device and how this can be used to enhance our limb destructions. Mark pointed out that we want to be able to pick up any common object and use this as an equaliser in an altercation. A great days training and a lot to learn. We also had Karl Faetz down doing photography so we should have some cracking pictures up on the site soon. Thank you to all the guys at Solo for a great day.
