TACTICAL EDGE CLASS - MONDAY

We started off with the kettlebells and then into developing our strikes on the pads. We then covered the standard straight blast limb destruction drill with a partner and then we added in the Thai pads so we could attack with a bit more venom. Remember, Mark always say that we can attack strongly with the straight blast or we can really let them come to us. They are providing all the force in the punch and our straight blast asks as a motorway barrier. I explained that when working with the pads we have to shorten the width between our checking hand and our striking hand. It's not rocket science to open them a little wider when the pad isn't there and it's an arm. I explained the need for the defensive footwork and we spent a bit of time on this. We also covered dealing with a two punch combination using the straight blast and elbow shield. We then added in impact weapons and edged weapons to demonstrate the effectiveness of the movement. Here is a shortclip of the limb destruction pad work.
