HOMEWORK @ KRAV MAGA EDINBURGH

This week when you are out and about doing whatever you guys do I want you to special attention to controlling your personal space with whoever you are speaking with. When speaking with someone face to face think about using your hands to protect your space in such a way that whoever you are speaking with has no idea what you are doing. As humans we all like to gesticulate with our hands so try and work it into our everyday lives. That way it becomes second nature and if we face confrontation we shouldn't have to think about it. Once you get used to it be daring and try and be tactile and when chatting see if you can touch the other person. Make sure they don't know that it's even happening. Again, be sensible and don't be ending up inapprpriately touching people but it's easy to do this with mates. Again see if you can do it with people when you are in a group. This is getting you used to multiple opponents. You have to get out of the way of just throwing up a barrier. Sometimes this is good but other times we need to disguise this. Be as sneeky as possible. If you remember training with Mark Davies you might have seen him gently touch a guy on the shoulder all friendly before he strikes from the opposite side. It's all done very swiftly and friendly, no aggression and not enough to make the guy say "Get your hands off me". So there it is guys - the mission has been set, go for it.

  1. Following up on your suggestion, already trying this at home. So far no one realised what's going on. But then again, I'm always monitoring what's going on.

Now that I thing of it, I could well be a faully-fledged Ninja! Hold on, forgot that I don't have shurikens yet.. :)

  2. The suggestion was that you touch someone else...not yourself. Nice try though Dominik.
