MARKING THE TARGET

Have someone stand in front of your for five minutes todays. First have them stand with feet shoulder width apart and hands at their sides. You can run through all your strikes working out what strike is best and to which target. Try and get a rhythm going and put them into 3 or 4 strike combinations. Also, just work single direct attacks.

Then put the person in a guard position ( or general outlet stance - who in the world can explain why it is called that in KM?!) and work the same. Start with some low line kicks and then work your way in to medium and finally close range strikes. Keep in mind the need for control, speed and rhythm. This is a great exercise and really speeds you up and allows you to identify striking targets. You can then develop further power and speed and the pads or heavy bags.
