From here we jumped onto the chokes, front, side and back. At this point its really important to be very fast and aggressive towards the attacker to ensure we get away safe!
To finish off the class we moved over to a circuit of shuttle runs, bodyweight drills and pad work. If that was not enough we reached for the kettlebells and did a solid work out with these. It only lasted for 18 minutes but it was a killer physical session. Excellent effort from everyone tonight and the class had a real buzz about it with all the new folk.
Krav Maga class kicked off with the skipping, kettlebells and bodyweight routine that tested even the fittest of guys. The physical part of the class can be as hard as you like or as easy as you like. You get what you put into every workout!
We covered lots of pad work to get our combative skills up to scratch so that we can use them later. From here its all about the forthcoming grading.
As a treat we got the big pads out and lined everyone up for the "ring of death, death". The new addition to this drill was you had top get passed another 2 guys with kick shields. Great fun and really tests your fighting spirit.
To work on some good form and to mark targets on our opponent we did a little slow fighting. This is always a good way to fine tune those skills.
If this wasn't enough we extended the class a little and covered some groundwork which ended up turning into a little competition. Congratulations to the winner who walked away with a top prize!
