Thursday at Krav Maga Edinburgh

Great class and a welcome return to Fiona who made a guest appearance last night. Poor show from the other regulars that didn't make it along to the class.

We kicked off with the usual mobility drills and stretching then that flowed into the circuit training that I have introduced to the classes. With a combination of Kettlebells and bodyweight drills along with sprints this culminated into a good solid workout. To finish off, I added some other drills which seemed to have the desired effect of tiring all.

Krav Maga Class

The intermediate class worked on kicking drills and then looked at some stick work and how the movements could be functionalised for combat.

Levels 1-3 after the warm up worked on some striking combinations and how to close the gap from medium and long range. We then incorporated 360 defence with simultaneous striking with takedowns (using side headlocks as a base). We played a short game of surprise attack and defend using 360 defence.

If you have not already added Rannoch's blog Simple Strength to your favourites then do it now. Check out the Firepower class review that he and Marcus took here at Krav Maga Edinburgh on Tuesday night.
