Krav Maga Edinburgh class 4th July

I will start with a quick breakdown of the class. We started out with some stretches and then jumped straight into some punching combinations (what happened to the fitness?). Spoke to soon, Marcus thought it was a good idea mixing it up a little and out came the push ups and the pain!!
This ones for all who attended without shin pads! Leg kicks and defending kicks. It looked sore for the guys without the pads! Better luck next time.
The group was split into 2. Those who are working towards P1 and Chris and myself who are looking to progress to P2. We drilled a little on defending strikes with simultaneous strikes. The fun began next. We then started to spar and proceeded to "get it on". Marcus thought it would be good to get in on the action so it was 2 against me. I still came out the victor. Power and strength over the boys with the styled hair!

  1. Yes the kicks and defence was sore, but getting an idea of how much it hurts is good and makes me want to toughen my shins somehow.

  2. Can I buy shin pads from the club? My shins are all black and blue after the class on Wed.

  3. good class, guys - really enjoyed mixing it up with big Lee - might try a baseball bat next time - just to even up the odds against him. Looking forward to next Wednesday it should be good. The Judo guys taking the class really know their stuff.

  4. Bring it on Chris. Someone once tried the baseball bat option and it broke on impact. Think of something else!!
There is 1 pair of shin pads left so you can get those on Wednesday Chris.

  5. Matt - I spoke to a guy I know that does Muay Thai and he recommends using a rolling pin on your shins. Roll it up and down your shins and eventually they will harden. However, it is really painful even doing this.

  6. That sounds a little crazy but if it works I might give it a try
